What is our purpose on earth? I get asked this question a lot. “What’s the purpose of it all? And please tell me there’s a purpose!”

What if there is no purpose? What are you going to do about that?! (pauses) Aaah, just joking. There is a purpose to it. Just wanted to test, to see how attached you are to whether there’s a purpose or not to being here, because everyone seems to have this deep attachment to, “There has to be a purpose to all this; otherwise, what’s it for? hy am I doing this? Why have I gone through all this suffering if there is no purpose?”

A lot of people think that their purpose is about, “Oh, I’m supposed to be a teacher, and I’m supposed to help a lot of people…” Others might think, “My purpose is to write some books, and… do good works.” And other people might think, “My purpose is to raise enlightened children, and be a good parent.”

Well, those are all fine and dandy, but that’s not really what the purpose is. Those are life paths, life goals, soul agendas, but the true purpose of it all, is the same for everyone who’s here. It’s the same purpose for every being: that is to awaken while here in form; to realize the truth of who you are while wearing a physical form.

It’s a very simple purpose: wake up from the dream! That’s the purpose; and to have a lucid dream, instead of being on automatic pilot!

Realize you are Godself looking out through form at itself, in all its various forms. That’s the purpose. It doesn’t get any more complicated than that. The purpose is to explore self, and be aware of self and grow more aware of self, and of all the various idiosyncrasies of self that are in the Godself.

Consciousness has no other purpose than to explore itself, and become aware of itself more and more; to have imaginings simply because it can. Why did the chicken cross the road? Because it could! Why did consciousness create a Universe? Because it could!

So your purpose isn’t that complicated. It’s actually quite simple. And you’re well on your way, if you’re listening to words like these, reading your books, or meditating, or whatever it is your doing on your spiritual path. You’re well on your way to serving your purpose.

Awake in the dream. Become lucid, and operate here in physical reality with full consciousness intact. That’s your purpose, and your mission… if you should choose to accept it.
